Summary

The book is about a fifteen-year-old autistic boy named Christopher who discovers one night the neighbour’s dead dog, killed with a garden fork.
He wants to find out the murderer because he admires Sherlock Holmes.
He is a very intelligent boy, and he is very good at mathematics and physics.
As his father is a “pretended” widower, Christopher lives with him alone in a house. By searching the book he is writing and which his father has taken away from him, he finds a lot of letters written by his mother.
So Christopher discovers that his mother isn’t dead, but she is living separated from her husband in London. He decides to find his mother although he has never been in London and is afraid of going there on his own.
